The symptoms listed above can be early markers of cognitive change that if left unattended could mark the early stages of Alzheimers. This is completely reversible if recognized and addressed early. Alzheimers is not a genetic disease and is largely avoidable by nearly everyone. There are genes that may place you at greater risk but they in no way guarantee that will incur Alzheimers. Risk factors include: diabetes or uncontrolled glucose, high blood pressure, oxidative stress such as oxidized LDL, poor diet, lack of exercise, lack of quality sleep, hormone imbalance, thyroid and stress imbalance, mercury or lead toxicity, medication use such as statins and acid blocking medication. Identifying risk early and making corrections can steer you out of the path of cognitive decline.
Ideally your total score is “0”. If you have some of the symptoms listed above and it is causing you concern, then let’s form a plan to reverse it. No one has to be the victim of Alzheimers.
Score of <10 is generally good. Score of 10 to 24 is mild concern. Score >24 needs urgent attention.
